To merge FLEXlm license files, it will be necessary to edit the existing file and add
elements from the file provided by DDC-I, Inc.. A typical Host license file looks
like the following:

The SERVER line contains a field for the server name (ourserver), and field for the
Disk Serial Number of "ourserver" (38D16F57), and a field for the TCP/IP port number
(7181). The DDCI Host license (TADS, SCORE or DACS) file must contain a SERVER line
in which the server name and Disk Serial number are the same as the file into which
it is to be merged. If these two items do not match, do not attempt to merge the
files. Contact DDC-I, Inc. Customer Support for an appropriate license file.
The DAEMON line(s) (sometimes called VENDOR line(s))(there may already be more than
one of these) contains a field for the daemon or vendor name (vector) and a field for
the full path to the daemon executable (C:]flexlm\vector.exe. The daemon name for
DDCI products is "ddciada", and if there is not already a DAEMON line with this name
in the merged file, then this line will need to be added. If the "ddciada.exe" is not
already present, it will need to be placed on the disk system, and the full path to it
provided in the "DAEMON ddciada" line.
The existing FEATURE lines must not be disturbed. The FEATURE lines from the license
file provided by DDC-I, Inc. must be copied exactly as they are into the merged file.
Generally, it is best simply to append them to the bottom of the existing file.
For example, when finished merging a TADS license file the resulting merged license
file should look something like this:

. Once this merge is complete, the file must be saved and the license manager made aware
of the change. This can be done in any one of the following ways:
Reboot the computer.
When the FLEXlm service restarts, it will read the altered file.
ReStart the FLEXlm License Server through the Control Panel.
The FLEXlm License Server is found in Services which located in the
Administrative Tools section.
Use lmutil to instruct the daemon to re-read the license file.
Open a Command Prompt window and change to the flexlm directory. Enter the
following command: lmutil lmreread ddciada. The daemon will be updated.
At this point, the TADS software may be installed using the merged license file.
