DDC-I Teams with ANSYS to Integrate SCADE with Deos Real-Time Operating System for DO-178C Avionics Applications

Phoenix, AZ. June 16, 2015. DDC-I, a leading supplier of software and professional services for mission- and safety-critical applications, today announced the integration of its Deos™ real-time operating system with ANSYS® SCADE® model-based solutions. Now, ANSYS® SCADE® Suite and ANSYS SCADE Display users who want to target the high-performance, safety-critical Deos real-time operating system can take advantage of an integrated solution that addresses all phases of modeling, simulation, verification, optimization, code generation, compliance with ARINC 661, RTOS integration, and certification for DO-178C avionics applications.

“We’re excited to be working with ANSYS to make our best-in-class safety-critical Deos RTOS available to SCADE users”, said Greg Rose, vice president of marketing and product management at DDC-I. “Now SCADE users can target an RTOS that has been built from the ground up for DO-178C applications, and take advantage of advanced features like slack scheduling and cache partitioning that reduce worst-case response while boosting overall performance.”

“We are pleased to partner with DDC-I, opening the possibility of using SCADE to the many Deos users in the safety-critical aeronautics industry,” said Eric Bantegnie, vice president of the System Business Unit at ANSYS. “This integration enhances our ability to provide a best-in-class solution for DO-178C applications.”

System and software engineers use ANSYS SCADE solutions to graphically design, verify, and automatically generate critical systems and software applications with high dependability requirements. SCADE solutions easily integrate, allowing for development optimization and increased communication among team members.

SCADE Suite’s and SCADE Display’s code generation technology makes it easy for designers to transform their models into C and/or Ada code that is ready to run under Deos, and ready to certify for DO-178C. The code generation DO-178C Certification Kit kit provides all the material required by DO-178C certification authorities, including a Tool Qualification Plan (TQP), Tool Operational Requirements (TOR), Tool Accomplishment Summary (TAS) or Safety Case (SC), Compliance Analysis to certification standards, Software Installation Procedure (SIP), and Tool Configuration Index (TCI).

Deos is a safety-critical embedded RTOS that has been certified to DO-178 DAL A since 1998. Featuring deterministic real-time response, the time and space partitioned RTOS employs patented ‘slack scheduling’ and cache partitioning to deliver faster worst-case response and higher CPU utilization than any other certifiable safety-critical COTS RTOS. Deos was built from the ground up for safety-critical applications, and is the only certifiable time and space partitioned COTS RTOS that has been created using RTCA DO-178, Level A processes from the very first day of its product development. Deos provides the easiest, lowest cost path of any COTS RTOS to DO-178 Level A certification, the highest level of safety criticality.
