Session to focus on Deos development fundamentals, ARINC 653, and multicore technology
Phoenix, AZ. Feb 28, 2019. DDC-I, a leading supplier of software and professional services for mission- and safety-critical applications, today announced that it will offer a three-day training program for avionics software developers targeting the Deos real-time operating system, with an emphasis on the Deos development process, ARINC 653, and multicore development. The three-day program will be offered at the SpringHill Suites Marriott at DFW Airport in Dallas, TX from March 5-7.
Participants will learn how to install and utilize the DDC-I Development Environment and Deos Application Programming Interface (API) to develop, debug, and build executable programs to run under Deos, including how to define time and space quota requirements, and how to configure, control, and access platform resources.
Having mastered Deos fundamentals, attendees will receive a primer on how ARINC 653 works within the Deos environment. Participants will learn how to define ARINC 653 partitions, how to optimize time frames within those partitions, and how to combine Deos native threads with ARINC 653 partitions. Developers will also learn how to utilize Deos communications services like sampling ports, queues and IOI, and how to configure health monitoring.
The three-day program will also include a session on multicore development. In this segment, participants will receive an overview of DDC-I’s Deos SafeMC multicore technology, including scheduling features, memory model concepts such as fences, memory pools, and cache partitioning, and how to migrate applications from single-core to multi-core systems.
“Avionics developers targeting the Deos real-time operating system will find everything they need to hit the ground running with the industry’s most advanced safety-critical real-time operating system,” said Greg Rose, vice president of marketing and product management at DDC-I. “They will also learn how to utilize ARINC653 within the Deos environment and how to take full advantage of our SafeMC multi-core technology.”
About Deos
Deos is a field proven, safety-critical, avionics RTOS that is used to host a multitude of flight critical functions, such as air data computers, air data inertial reference units, cockpit video, displays and flight instrumentation, flight management systems, engine management, and many more. Built from the ground up for safety-critical applications, Deos was the first
RTOS certified to DO-178 DAL A and is the only certifiable time- and space-partitioned COTS RTOS that has been created using RTCA DO-178, Level A processes from the very first day of product development. Deos features deterministic real-time response as well as time and space partitioning. Deos also features patented slack scheduling and cache partitioning, which enables it to deliver higher CPU utilization than any other certifiable safety-critical COTS RTOS.
