Nashville, TN – April 12, 2019. DDC-I, a leading supplier of software and professional services for mission- and safety-critical applications, today announced that it will present a pair of live avionics demonstrations featuring high-end graphics and display capabilities at the Army Aviation Mission Solution Summit, which runs from April 14-16 at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel & Convention Center in Nashville, TN. The first, employing a ruggedized Curtiss Wright NXP Power Architecture T2080-based VPX3-152 OpenVPX single-board computer equipped with DDC-I’s safety-critical Deos real-time operating system and CoreAVI OpenGL graphics, supporting 3D synthetic vision utilizing Ensco IData and IDataMap display software. The second demo, featuring an i.MX8 reference platform running Deos and CoreAVI graphics, will showcase high-end display capabilities utilizing Ansys display software.
The annual Army Aviation Mission Solution Summit, sponsored by the Army Aviation Association of America (AAAA), is the only opportunity for the entire Army aviation community to gather in one place at one time focused solely on Army Aviation issues. The summit provides unique opportunities for the community to network, be recognized, have its voice heard, and support our soldiers and their families. Attending the summit will be soldiers (active, National Guard, and reserves), veterans and retirees, special operations, MEDEVAC, and industry leaders in R & D, simulation, acquisition, logistics, training, doctrine, and maintenance. This year’s edition will feature a Hall of Fame Induction Banquet and close with a Soldier Appreciation Dinner Concert featuring Lee Brice and Ryan Weaver.
“We’re excited to be part of the Army Aviation Mission Solution Summit and look forward to demonstrating our integrated safety-critical platform to the Army aviation community,” said Greg Rose, vice president of marketing and product management at DDC-I. “ Multicore COTS systems equipped with Deos and advanced display capability provide an ideal platform for rapid development, certification, and deployment of safety-critical software for a broad range of Army aviation applications.”
DDC-I’s Deos is a field proven, safety-critical, multicore avionics RTOS that is used to host a multitude of flight critical functions, such as air data computers, air data inertial reference units, cockpit video, displays and flight instrumentation, flight management systems, engine management, and many more. Built from the ground up for safety-critical applications, Deos was the first RTOS certified to DO-178 DAL A, and is the only certifiable time- and space-partitioned COTS RTOS that has been created using RTCA DO-178, Level A processes from the very first day of its product development.
Deos features deterministic real-time response as well as time and space partitioning. Deos also features patented slack scheduling and cache partitioning, which enables it to deliver higher CPU utilization than any other certifiable safety-critical COTS RTOS. Deos is supported on x86, ARM, and PowerPC microprocessors.
