DDC-I Booth # 406
Phoenix, AZ – September 17, 2026. DDC-I, a leading supplier of software and professional services for mission and safety-critical applications, today announced that it will exhibit and participate in a pair of panel discussions at the Modular Open Systems Architecture (MOSA) Industry and Government Summit & Expo. The show will be held September 22-24 at the Gaylord National Hotel & Convention Center in National Harbor, MD.
Panel One
The first panel, titled “Incentivizing Greater Use of MOSA-Based Commercial Products Within Military Systems,” convenes at 3:30 EST on September 23 and features DDC-I’s Vice President of Marketing, Gary Gilliland.
The Department of War (DoW) is accelerating its shift toward acquiring weapon systems and subsystems from commercial suppliers, who are seen as rapid innovation leaders who drive costs down through high-volume manufacturing while quickly discarding even recent 1–2-year-old technologies to remain competitive. Military firms, by contrast, utilize smaller quantities while prioritizing interoperability, long-term sustainment, military-grade hardening, and military specific testing. This mismatch creates a structural challenge; How can the DoW continuously integrate new commercial capabilities into long-lived military systems.
Panel members will explore how the use of MOSA will help make that happen, what will incentivize military and commercial suppliers to support it, and what the military can do within the acquisition process to accelerate it.
Panel Two
The second panel, hosted by DDC-I’s Gregg Wildes, is titled “MOSA Enabling Digital Backbone Capabilities for Army HADES”, and will be held on September 24 at 9:00 AM.
The US Army Aviation HADES program has leveraged MOSA to enable digital backbone capabilities that accelerate advanced ISR capabilities to the warfighter. Using open architecture technologies such as time sensitive networking (TSN) and the Deos FACE conformant RTOS reduces integration and testing time, facilitating faster future system upgrades. In this panel discussion, participants from US Army Aviation, DDC-I, TTTech and North Atlantic Industries will share digital backbone development and integration experiences.
“We look forward to sharing Deos, our world class, FACE® conformant, multi-core RTOS technology at the MOSA Summit and demonstrating how it can be incorporated in military systems” said Gary Gilliland, Vice President of Marketing at DDC-I. “We are also pleased to moderate the US Army Aviation HADES panel and showcase how MOSA, Deos RTOS and TSN networking technology is being used to revolutionize the digital backbone and deliver advanced ISR capabilities to the warfighter.”
About the MOSA Industry and Government Summit & Expo
The MOSA Industry and Government Summit & Expo convene government, industry, and technical communities to advance the Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) as a strategic enabler for defense acquisition and innovation. At a time when modular open architectures are becoming central decision criteria across programs, this summit enables attendees to connect in person with technical leaders, program managers, acquisition executives, and innovators committed to modernizing systems across the full life cycle.
About Deos
Deos™ is a safety-critical embedded RTOS employed in commercial and military ground, marine, air, and space systems where reliability and determinism are paramount. Rooted initially in avionics, Deos was first certified to DO-178 DAL A (the utmost software process standard) in 1998 and is deployed in over 10,000 commercial aircraft. Deos use cases also extend beyond avionics, where its proven technical features provide numerous advantages over legacy RTOS architectures, especially as integrated system complexity continues to grow while still requiring a high degree of determinism and robustness. Deos is also aligned with modern military initiatives such as FACE®, MOSA, PYRAMID, and others.
