Phoenix, AZ – Nov 4, 2025. DDC-I, a leading supplier of software and professional services for mission- and safety-critical applications, today announced that it has selected Unitronix as its sales representative for Australia and New Zealand.
DDC-I is active in both the Australian and New Zealand defense markets, where both countries have made significant commitments to modernizing and revitalizing their militaries. Australia is investing heavily in nuclear powered submarines and missile acquisition and has plans to increase its defense funding to 2.3% of GDP by 2033. New Zealand, meanwhile, has committed to doubling its defense spending to more than 2% of GDP by 2033, with an emphasis on combat aircraft.
“We’re excited to have Unitronix on board,” said Gary Gilliland, Vice President of Marketing at DDC-I. “Unitronix offers a wide range of hardware and software components for the safety-critical mil/aero market. We look forward to working with them to share our world class, safety-critical RTOS technology with avionics and defense development teams in the burgeoning Australian and New Zealand markets.”
“DDC-I has a long, global pedigree in the safety-critical aerospace and defense sectors with its best-in-class, DO-178C mil/aero platform,” added Tim Marshall, Managing Director at Unitronix. “We are expecting to see significant interest in the Deos platform as Australia and New Zealand ramp up investment in modernizing and enhancing their defense capability.”
Unitronix is an innovative engineering-capable distributor and manufacturer of rugged, embedded computing solutions for military, aerospace, and high-end industrial applications. Established in 1984, Unitronix has supplied and supported Australian civil and defense programs with reliable equipment needed to survive in some of the harshest environments.
Deos™ is a safety-critical embedded real-time operating system (RTOS) that employs patented cache partitioning, memory pools, and safe scheduling to deliver higher CPU utilization than any other certifiable safety-critical COTS RTOS on multi-core processors. First certified to DO-178 DAL A in 1998, Deos provides FACE® Conformant OSS Safety Base and Safety Extended Profiles that feature hard real-time response, time, and space partitioning, with support for Rate Monotonic, ARINC-653 and POSIX interfaces.
SafeMC™ technology extends Deos’ advanced capabilities to multiple cores, enabling developers of safety-critical systems to achieve best in class multi-core performance without compromising safety-critical task response and guaranteed execution time. SafeMC employs a bounded multiprocessing (BMP) extension of the symmetric multiprocessing architecture (SMP), safe scheduling, and cache partitioning to minimize cross-core contention and interference patterns that affect the performance, safety criticality and certifiability of multi-core systems. These features enable avionics developers to address issues specified by AC/AMC 20-193 multi-core objectives that could impact the safety, performance, and integrity of a software airborne system.
