BOOTH #4025

Detroit, MI – May 12-14, 2026. DDC-I, a leading supplier of software and professional services for mission and safety-critical applications, today announced that it will showcase its DO-178C, FACE-compatible, Deos multi-core real-time operating system (RTOS) at MDEX/XPONENTIAL. DDC-I will host an Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) Vehicle Management Demonstration and present a paper on Security in Unmanned Systems.

MDEX — the Michigan Defense Expo, now in its 17th year and hosted by the NDIA Michigan Chapter — co-locates for the first time with XPONENTIAL, the world’s largest autonomy and uncrewed systems event, hosted by AUVSI. The three-day event will be held May 12-14 at Huntington Place in Detroit, Michigan. For more information, please visit https://mdex-ndia.com/.

DDC-I’s Defense and Aerospace Technology Executive Gregg Wildes will present a paper on Security in Unmanned Systems on May 13 from 3:30-3:50 at XPONENTIAL. The paper will discuss how embedded systems will interoperate with emerging FAA NextGen and EASA’s SESAR systems to share data, protect avionics from cybersecurity attacks and make the National Air Space operate efficiently for all aircraft and ground systems, including the emerging Urban Air Mobility market.

DDC-I’s Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) Vehicle Management Demo will run under the Deos RTOS on an NXP i.MX8 QuadMax processor which has an integrated Vivante GC7000 GPU. The demo focuses on creating graphical instruments as well as grouping data from various systems on one display.  It was created using the Ansys SCADE Display design and development environment.

“Michigan’s Defense Corridor is home to more than 6,000 defense contractors and is responsible for 75 percent of America’s ground combat systems,” said Gary Gilliland, vice president of marketing at DDC- I. “We look forward to sharing our best-in class, safety-critical RTOS and UAS technology with the defense community at MDEX XPONENTIAL and invite attendees to join us for our May 13 presentation on cybersecurity.”

About Deos

Deos is employed in commercial and military ground, marine, air, and space systems where reliability and determinism are paramount. Rooted initially in avionics, Deos was first certified to DO-178 DAL A (the utmost software process standard) in 1998 and is deployed in over 10,000 commercial aircraft. Deos’ use cases have extended outside avionics, where its proven technical features provide numerous advantages over legacy RTOS architectures, especially as integrated system complexity continues to grow while still requiring a high degree of determinism and robustness. Deos is also aligned with modern military initiatives such as FACE®, MOSA, PYRAMID, and others.

Deos is a safety-critical embedded RTOS that employs patented cache partitioning, memory pools, and safe scheduling to deliver higher CPU utilization than any other certifiable safety-critical COTS RTOS while also addressing AC/AMC 20-193 multi-core objectives. The Deos environment also offers security features, middleware, networking, and other components often desired for modern embedded systems.

Deos offers a modular approach, uniquely at the object code level, which isolates deterministic applications from changes when other modules are added, removed, or modified. This modularity greatly improves application and system component reuse and reduces the cost of change for system improvements, enabling developers to reconfigure their systems more easily for multiple use cases and shorten the time and effort needed for next-generation products.
